RECENT REVIEWS
We've recently had a visit from Saturday Telegraph's Matthew Norman. Everyone's really thrilled with his review and enjoyed his descriptions of some of the Wheatsheaf crew! Read the review

As with previous years, we are delighted to be featured in this year's Good Food Guide, described as "a popular Inn with sophisticated food". Remember to bring your Good Food Guide 2012 voucher along with you next time you're dining with us.
SUMMER CRICKET - WHEATSHEAF VS COMBE HAY
We managed to fit in a couple of Cricket matches this Summer. The Wheatsheaf's "official" cricket team, made up of the staff and a few of the regulars, played very well against the local side of "Combe Hay". The evening takes place in Combe Hay with supporters enjoying their picnics and glasses of wine. The match ends with a pint back at the pub. Look forward to the re-match next summer.
BORDEAUX TRIP
Ian and James were lucky enough to be invited to Chateau D'Yquem and Chateau Cheval Blanc and of course both being wine lovers they had a great time, having chance to see the bottling of the Cheval Blanc 2010 vintage, one of the best vintages to be produced by the Chateau. In between the tours of the Chateaux they enjoyed eating at some of Bordeaux's best restaurants and wandering round the streets of St. Emillion. Tough but someone's got to do it!
WHEATSHEAF FISHING TRIP
Every so often the Wheatsheaf team gets up very early and heads down to Weymouth for a day of fishing. This trip, we were catching Bream as well as the usual abundant catch of Mackerel, which although requires no fishing skill whatsoever, is so amazing when fresh. Some of us didn't do too badly, managing to have a least something for the supper table that evening!
Will even managed to catch a Conga Eel, which Eddy then makes into a beautiful fish soup as well as frying smaller pieces in a tempura batter as a variation of good old battered fish.
ART AT THE WHEATSHEAF
Works by Susi Adams and Laurel Wadevery's were exhibited at the latest Art at the Wheatsheaf evening, followed by supper with our Head Chef, Eddy Rains.
